About the Role

Zen Educate is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at a special needs school in Bristol. The school specializes in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health struggles, as well as those on the autistic spectrum.

The school is rapidly expanding, and we are looking for long-term and full-time staff to work 1:1 with students. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to be part of a school that is constantly evolving and growing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full-time position working 8:30-3:30, Monday to Friday during term time
  • Providing 1:1 support to students with SEMH and ASC
  • Implementing effective strategies to engage with students and manage challenging behavior
  • Working closely with the support team and following instructions from teachers
Requirements
  • Previous school experience is preferred but not essential
  • Experience working with special needs, either in a school setting, as a youth worker, or in a care environment
  • Ability to manage and engage with students with SEMH or ASC
  • Calm and empathetic approach towards children
  • Strong team player with the ability to follow instructions and attainment goals
Qualifications
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable)
