Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children and Young People Engagement Officer to join our team in a lively and supportive SEN school in Wythenshawe, Manchester. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues.
Key Responsibilities:- Take attendance in the mornings and liaise with parents over absences
- Provide support work in the community, working closely with social services and other parties to best support the young people
- Manage the young people's behaviour and help them to engage with the curriculum, using behaviour management techniques and deescalation strategies
- Refer to the young people's education and health care plans (EHCP) to inform your practice
- Hold a full, clean UK Drivers License and access to your own car
- Be willing to get business insurance on your vehicle
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child-related references
