Job Opportunity: Head of Maths

Wayman Group is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to lead our Mathematics department at a highly regarded school in Barnet. As the Head of Maths, you will have the opportunity to shape the Mathematics curriculum, working closely with a team of experienced teachers to create a stimulating and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the Mathematics department, ensuring the delivery of an outstanding Mathematics curriculum.
  • Provide instructional leadership and support to Mathematics teachers, fostering a culture of high academic achievement.
  • Monitor and assess student progress in Mathematics, implementing effective strategies to support their learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver engaging and innovative Mathematics lessons.
  • Mentor and support Mathematics teachers in their professional development, providing guidance and feedback.
  • Contribute to the school's Mathematics program and extracurricular activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavior.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Specialization in Mathematics or a related field.
  • Postgraduate degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education (preferred).
  • Extensive experience in teaching Mathematics, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the Mathematics curriculum.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of the latest pedagogical approaches in Mathematics education.
