About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our team at West Mercia Police. As a Specialist Technical Support Level 3 (Critical Saab Support) role, you will be responsible for providing technical support across our organization, ensuring a high level of service in terms of ICT services, specialist applications, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers, ensuring a quality end-to-end ICT service.
  • Contribute to an efficient and effective Customer Service, working as a member of the Specialist Technical Support Team.
  • Provide local supervision of work colleagues as required, ensuring a high level of technical expertise.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of technical solutions to meet business needs.
Requirements
  • Essential:
    • Application support
    • Windows Server
    • VMware
    • M365
    • ITIL incident and change management
  • Desirable:
    • Command and Control system experience - ideally Saab SAFE
    • Network & Telephony
    • Database support
    • Radio (Airwave)
    • Azure Virtual Desktop
    • Omnissa Horizon
    • Load Balancing (preferably JetNexus)
    • Monitoring tools e.g. SolarWinds
    • Cyber security awareness
    • Experience of Operations & Communications Centres
    • Policing background
