**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Higher Construction Trainer to join our team at Kiwi Associates. As a Higher Construction Trainer, you will be responsible for ensuring that apprentices are enrolled on the correct apprenticeship standard and the correct HNC in line with their employment/career objectives.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Ensure that apprentices are enrolled on the correct apprenticeship standard and the correct HNC in line with their employment/career objectives.
  • Discuss with the employer and the apprentice at initial engagement the course content, objectives, assessment process and criteria and how the qualification is finally assessed.
  • Ensure that the employer sponsor is able to provide the appropriate range and scope of work that enables the apprentice to practice and perfect the range of skills, knowledge and behaviours they will be required to demonstrate to meet the criteria of the qualifications and the End point assessments.
  • Ensure that the apprentices have clear instruction on what evidence they need to submit, where they need to submit it and then mark and provide feedback on the quality, relevance etc of the evidence uploaded by the apprentice.
  • Work with the HNC/BSC lecturers on ensuring apprentices are completing the HNC/BSC course work and to prepare a progress report and present this feedback to the apprentice and employer at the formal progress reviews which must take place every 10 to 12 weeks in a meeting with the employer and the apprentice.
  • Continually monitor student progress and promptly action where there is an area for concern (late submission of work, poor quality of work).
  • Prepare the students for their final projects and end point assessment, liaising with the employers to plan sign off for the final projects.
  • Continually monitor the behaviour and development of the apprentice, actioning where attendance, attitude, behaviour requires improvement.
  • Monitor the welfare/safeguarding of apprentices and appropriately action where there are any concerns.

**Requirements:**

  • Strong understanding of a range of senior construction responsibilities and experience of construction management/civil engineering/planning.
  • Education delivery/assessment experience.
  • Ideal qualification in assessing competency qualifications such as TAQA, A1, D32.
  • Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders, including employers, apprentices and lecturers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
