Job Description:

MPJ Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Housing Disrepair Fee Earner to join our client's team in South Manchester. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for handling a caseload of Housing Disrepair cases, working closely with clients, landlords, and other stakeholders to resolve disputes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess information, photos, and video of disrepair from tenants and determine whether it is likely to equate to £1,000 or more of disrepair.
  • Compile Protocol complaint letters of claim and draft correspondence to clients, landlords, and their legal representatives.
  • Assess disclosure documents, instruct expert surveyors, and analyze their reports.
  • Draft court proceedings, including claim forms and particulars of claim, and engage in negotiations.
  • Attend and carry out advocacy at relatively simple hearings.

Requirements:

  • Experience in litigation, particularly in Housing Disrepair.
  • Excellent communication skills and strong telephony manner.
  • Knowledge of caselaw and ability to apply it in practice.
  • Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently within a team and on your own.
