We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Morson Talent. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the mechanical design and delivery of projects within the nuclear industry.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a highly regulated industry, preferably within the nuclear sector. You will be responsible for leading functional input to projects, planning and prioritizing work, and managing suppliers to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading the mechanical design and delivery of projects
- Providing functional support and guidance to the mechanical team
- Managing suppliers to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery
- Liaising with key stakeholders and other design disciplines
- Generating and checking engineering estimates and execution strategies
The successful candidate will have a good understanding of Alpha plant design and the storage of Special Nuclear Material packages. You will also have excellent communication and report writing skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely report findings.
We are looking for a candidate who is comfortable working under time and cost constraints, with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and 2D and 3D Autodesk CAD Products.
Essential Qualifications and ExperienceExperience of working within a highly regulated industry, preferably within the nuclear industry.
Knowledge and experience in nuclear containment systems and mechanical plant and equipment design.
Responsible for the timely delivery of design packages, which will include close liaison with the Area Engineering Manager/Technical Manager/other engineering disciplines.
