About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join our team at BDO UK. As a key member of our audit team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients across various sectors, providing assistance to partners on client work and team management, and playing a significant role in delivering our national Not-for-Profit strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of clients across various sectors, including charities, housing, and education.
  • Provide assistance to partners on client work and team management.
  • Contribute to the delivery of our national Not-for-Profit strategy, including growth plans.
  • Act as a major point of contact within the firm, responding to requests and keeping stakeholders informed of progress.
  • Responsible for the financial management of a portfolio, including completing assignments within agreed budgets and timescales.
  • Ensure assignments are staffed with the appropriate mix of knowledge and skills required.
  • Ensure adherence to the firm's risk management and quality control procedures.
  • Identify and recognize business and sales opportunities.
  • Support partners and senior managers in developing new business relationships and business proposals.
  • Recruit, retain, develop, and motivate employees, including participating in graduate recruitment and ensuring job appraisal documentation is completed within deadlines.
  • Work as part of a management team to plan resources, attend merit rate meetings, and implement efficiency gains.
  • Act as an ambassador for the firm, participating in office marketing events and staying up-to-date with the firm's services.
  • Act as a role model for trainees and executives.
Requirements
  • ACA/ICAS qualified or overseas equivalent.
  • Previous experience of managing people.
  • Good working knowledge of UK and International GAAS, IFRS, UK GAAP, and Financial Reporting requirements.
  • Working knowledge of financial products, firm services, issues regarding advice and regulation, and compliance, including anti-money laundering.
  • Experience of systems/controls testing as well as substantive auditing, including consolidations, group audits, statutory accounts, and disclosures.
  • Project management experience.
