Job Opportunity: Additional Learning Support Manager

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate professional to lead our Additional Learning Support team at South Hampshire College Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the provision of additional learning support across a designated campus, ensuring a high-quality, cost-effective, efficient, and legally compliant service is provided to enable students to achieve their goals on courses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Additional Learning Support team, ensuring effective coordination of staffing and physical resources to optimize the student learning experience.
  • Liaise with staff across the college to facilitate the smooth organization and effective utilization of resources.
  • Be responsible for the management of learning support staff, supporting the coordination of finances and learning resources allocated to the service.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of and/or teaching aspects of an FE curriculum, particularly in Numeracy and Literacy.
  • Exhibit excellent knowledge and experience of managing staff and performance management.
  • Previous experience of effective tracking of EHCP outcomes.
  • Understand the strategic role of the SENCO and the latest relevant legislation, including the SEND Code of Practice.

Qualifications:

  • Full teaching qualification, e.g., Cert Ed, or an appropriate professional qualification to Level 4.
  • Management qualification or experience.
  • SENCO qualified status or 2 years of experience in a similar role and willingness to undertake training to achieve SENCO qualification.

  • Ability to build trusting relationships with students, their parents/carers, and other stakeholders.
