About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at AMS. As a key member of our Commercial Operations team, you will be responsible for leading procurements of varying complexity, sometimes against tight timelines, in line with Public Procurement Regulations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Leadership: Lead on procurements of varying complexity, interacting with relevant business areas on progress and requirements.
  • Commercial Advice: Provide professional procurement advice and assist the Head of Commercial Operations to provide a framework that enables the Business Areas to ensure the department meets any and all central government requirements, achieve best value, and effectively manage risk for third-party goods and services.
  • Contract Management: Advise and undertake Contract Management activities, including the implementation and embedding of supplier relationship management and Contract Management processes in the department.
  • Policy and Process Development: Manage consistent commercial policies and procurement processes across the Department in line with Managing Public Money, supporting with policy and process improvements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Support the Commercial Directorate as a key adviser in providing commercial assurance across the DCMS and its ALB, and represent DCMS Commercial internally and externally when called on.

Requirements:

  • Public Procurement Experience: Demonstrable public procurement experience (applying public procurement legislation) leading on multiple procurement strands that has helped deliver great value for money outcomes and great customer outcomes.
  • Commercial Skills: Commercial focus, ability to demonstrate experience of working with a variety of stakeholders to deliver commercial outcomes, and good knowledge of CCs frameworks and competition Procurement.
  • Qualifications: MCIPS and use of Atamis e-procurement System.

Working Arrangements:

  • Hybrid Remote Work: 3 days per week in London or Manchester and 2 days working from home.

Benefits:

  • Competitive Daily Rate: £500.00-£550.00 per day.

Job Type: Fixed-term contract, 4 months.
