About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced freelance social worker to join our team in assessing applicants for adoption and early permanence carers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments to determine the suitability of applicants for adoption and early permanence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct home visits and assessments to evaluate applicants' suitability for adoption and early permanence
  • Prepare and submit comprehensive reports to support the adoption process
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure a smooth and effective assessment process
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to applicants throughout the assessment process
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England
  • At least three years post-qualifying experience in children's social care settings
  • Experience of completing adoption assessments and writing Prospective Adopters Reports
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A good understanding of the issues affecting adopted people, particularly those from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds
