Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (42.5 hours per week)
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM - 10:30 AM

Starting Salary: £27,500 per annum

Reporting to: Area Sales Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Trade Counter Manager to lead and grow our Cramlington branch. The ideal candidate will have strong management experience, preferably within the building trade, and the ability to create a positive, sales-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage all branch operations to ensure both financial and non-financial targets are met.
  • Implement company strategies for business growth and development in the local market.
  • Coach and support staff to enhance their performance and ensure excellent customer service.
  • Lead sales efforts to attract new customers and retain existing ones, driving profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with trade and retail customers.
  • Promote the company's brand locally to grow market awareness.
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage inventory to meet customer demand.
  • Prepare financial reports on sales performance, gross profits, and operational costs.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience managing a builders' merchant or similar business.
  • Knowledge of building materials and associated products, particularly plastic building products and windows.
  • Experience implementing sales strategies to grow revenue and improve profitability.
  • The ability to work with a wide range of customers, including trade professionals, retail customers, and contractors.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with both customers and suppliers.
  • Experience in recruiting, training, and developing team members.
  • Knowledge of SAP or similar systems (preferred, but training can be provided).
