About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team as the lead officer for the management, maintenance, development, and improvement of our Financial Systems.

As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for the team that deals with all transactional services, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and income allocation, as well as reconciliations and debtor monitoring.

Previous experience of supporting the closure of accounts process for a large multi-disciplinary organisation to enable the production of compliant Statutory Statement of Accounts is essential for this post.

You will also be required to have up-to-date working knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and core disciplines, including IFRS and the Code of Practice on Local Government Accounts, as well as an understanding of business continuity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the management, maintenance, development, and improvement of our Financial Systems
  • Oversee the team responsible for transactional services, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and income allocation
  • Ensure accurate and timely reconciliations and debtor monitoring
  • Support the closure of accounts process to enable the production of compliant Statutory Statement of Accounts
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, standards, and core disciplines, including IFRS and the Code of Practice on Local Government Accounts
