About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team as a key member of the Finance Department. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for the management, maintenance, development, and improvement of the Council's Financial Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team responsible for transactional services, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and income allocation.
  • Reconcile and monitor debtor accounts.
  • Support the closure of accounts process for a large multi-disciplinary organization.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant legislation, standards, and core disciplines, including IFRS and the Code of Practice on Local Government Accounts.
  • Develop and maintain business continuity plans.
