Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at United Living Group. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pre-Contract: Assist in the preparation of tenders, including checking quantities for major elements, and analyse tender quotations for exclusions and conditions.
  • Project Delivery: Ensure a detailed understanding of bid allowances and complete a thorough handover with the estimating team. Collaborate with the project team to deliver successful projects and support business unit objectives.
  • Procurement: Prepare and implement the project procurement strategy with the Operations Manager. Support the Group Procurement Department in buying deals and chair subcontract interview meetings.
  • Main Contract: Support the Operations Manager in providing monthly reports to customers, ensuring accurate forecasts of rolling draft final accounts. Develop and maintain close relationships with customers, consultants, and subcontractors.
  • Subcontract: Prepare and negotiate interim valuations and final accounts, including measurement and documentation of variations with the supply chain.
  • Financial: Manage project profit and loss accountability, use company cost systems, and forecast cash on an accurate and timely basis.
  • Legal/Dispute: Assist in the preparation of claims or dispute management to correct imbalances of cost and value.
Requirements:
  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or a similar commercial-related course.
  • Professional qualification MRICS or MCIOB desirable.
  • Good data interrogation skills and line management experience.
  • Commercial awareness with good legal and contractual knowledge and experience.
  • Experience of management accounts and proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Valid driving license and CSCS card at an appropriate level.
