About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Curriculum Specialist Co-Ordinator to join our team at Bournemouth & Poole College. As a key member of our Curriculum Administration Team, you will provide administrative support to our academic staff and students, ensuring the smooth operation of our curriculum areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first point of contact for students and staff in the administration office, handling queries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Act as point of contact on behalf of Directors and Learning Managers, taking telephone calls, dealing with messages, and progressing matters for management attention.
  • Offer administrative support to academic staff, including taking messages, liaising with staff and parents to arrange meetings, writing letters to students/parents, and general administration duties.
  • Build and maintain links and knowledge with curriculum teams, providing support in areas such as minute-taking at meetings, and attending training and events as necessary.
  • Assist with the day-to-day running of curriculum areas, including communicating timetable changes, reporting and recording staff and student absence/lateness, ordering stationery, certificate administration, filing, generating and handling correspondence, and data input.
Requirements
  • Level 2 (or equivalent) English and Maths.
  • Appropriate qualification to level 2/3 standard.
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment and managing a diverse caseload.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Good command of the English language and grammar.
  • Understanding of GDPR, data protection, and health and safety requirements and how this aligns with the working environment.
  • A sound operational knowledge of structured transactional/administration processes and systems.
  • Excellent administration skills and customer service skills (face to face, email, and phone).
  • Attendance at college events, including open evenings outside of normal working hours.
