Financial Accounting Manager

Location: Exeter, Devon

Compensation: £70,000 + benefits

Our client, a leading entity in the South West, is on the lookout for a proficient and motivated Financial Accounting Manager to become a vital part of their growing team on a full-time, permanent basis.

In the role of Financial Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial governance functions for the Group and its subsidiaries. Your duties will include ensuring timely and accurate internal and external financial reporting, managing complex accounting matters, supporting audit processes, assisting with board documentation, and leading the implementation of the Group Accounting Manual.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate monthly actuals reporting for the Group and its subsidiaries.
  • Supervise the preparation of statutory accounts for the Group and its subsidiaries.
  • Assist in the preparation of consolidated statutory accounts for interim and annual periods.
  • Support senior management with board documentation related to financial reporting and technical accounting matters.
  • Review VAT and Corporation Tax working papers to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain consistency in reporting, practices, and policies across the Group and its subsidiaries.
  • Act as the primary liaison with external auditors for audit planning and related issues.
  • Oversee the balance sheet reconciliation process for the Group and its subsidiaries.

Candidate Profile:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with significant experience in preparing financial data at both Group and company levels.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS, accounting principles, consolidation, and restructuring.
  • Demonstrated analytical and financial modeling capabilities, with a methodical approach to problem-solving and process enhancement.
  • Exceptional communication and people management skills, capable of fostering strong relationships, working effectively under pressure, and leading team success.
