Principal Traffic Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Traffic Engineer to join our team at Gloucestershire County Council. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of projects from inception through to design and construction.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a team of engineers to deliver projects that meet quality, cost, and time objectives.
- Lead the financial and contractual management of projects, ensuring successful delivery and value for money.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with project managers and other stakeholders.
- Line manage and mentor a team of engineering staff to ensure their wellbeing and professional development needs are met.
- Ensure that the team works in accordance with current design and contract legislation, standards, and guidance.
We are looking for a seasoned professional with a strong understanding and appreciation of road safety and sustainable travel. You will have significant experience in producing design solutions through all stages of design, preparing contract documents, and working with contractors.
You will have expert knowledge of design legislation, standards, and guidance and be able to derive innovative solutions to complex challenges. You will have skills and experience in managing relationships with stakeholders to provide expert advice, negotiate, and collaborate to deliver schemes.
