We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Static Equipment Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Bechtel Corporation. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring contractors' engineering progress for static equipment, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and monitor contractors' engineering progress for static equipment, including pressure vessels, fired and unfired heat transfer equipment, and shop-fabricated tanks.
- Review design scope and deliverables to ensure contractors perform all work to agreed standards for safety, health, and environment.
- Develop engineering procedures, design guides, specifications, instructions, philosophies, and design criteria.
- Coordinate and participate in reviews of contractors' engineering documents and deliverables within the discipline to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
- Monitor status of contractor documents reviews for the discipline.
- Communicate complex technical issues and recommend solutions to project management.
- Participate in project technical reviews, progress, and review meetings.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree.
- At least 15 years of static equipment experience, relevant to oil, gas, and chemicals-related design engineering.
- Additional experience in PMC, petrochemical, systems startup, field engineering, or plant operation in large industrial plants, utilities, process plants, or other engineering/construction firms is a plus.
- Professional license or Chartered Engineer status in an appropriate engineering or scientific discipline, from a recognized licensing board or engineering council preferred.
- Experience with COMPRESS/PV-Elite software for designing pressure vessels and reviewing vendor designs.
- Re-rating and modifications of pressure vessels, coke drums, reactors, fitness for service assessments, thick-walled vessels in cryogenic and wet sour service, FEA/CFD analysis.
- Heat exchanger selection and design using HTRI program.
- Fired equipment experience, including thermal design, FRNC-5 heater simulation program, combustion calculations, draft loss calculations, and pressure drop calculations.
- Experience in writing equipment design specifications for static equipment.
- Specific industry and technology experience in Petrochemicals (Cracker, Polyethylene, Polypropylene, PVC, VCM, PTA, PET) is a plus.
- Experience with field installation and commissioning activities for static equipment is preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of the application of engineering to plant constructability, including construction methods and materials.
- Thorough understanding of the roles played by other departments on projects, including construction practices and economics.
If you are successful, Bechtel will organize your relocation and logistics, including Indian visas, travel, and provision of accommodation in Mumbai. If you are open to relocation, we will provide accommodation for you while you are in country, and you will mobilize and spend 10 weeks working in country, followed by 2 weeks at home, and so on for the project duration.
