Job Title: Detention Custody Officer Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Detention Custody Officer Manager to join our team at Mitie. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of Detention Custody Officers, ensuring that our services are delivered to the highest standards.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage the daily operations of the Detention Centre, ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Provide guidance and support to Detention Custody Officers to ensure that they are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
- Work closely with the Senior Management Team to develop and implement strategies to improve service delivery and efficiency.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators to ensure that the Detention Centre is operating within agreed standards.
- Manage the escorting operations of allocated areas to meet Immigration Enforcement requirements and C&C service delivery expectations.
- Identify and escalate incidents that may impact on the smooth running of the operation, the safety, security, or welfare of detainees, staff, or members of the public.
- Develop and maintain a culture of high standards of cleanliness and good order within the site.
- Organise and manage the provision of accurate data for management information to inform decision-making.
Requirements:
- Managerial experience in a custodial environment is desirable.
- Experience as a Detention Custody Officer is essential.
- UK citizen, Citizen of the Commonwealth with your own indefinite leave to remain (not through marriage) or EEA citizen.
- Valid and in-date passport, with no restrictions on your stay in the UK.
- Continuously resided in the UK for the previous 3 years with no more than 3 months spent overseas at any one time.
- Specific driving compliance is attached to this role.
- Full NI manual driving licence with at least 12 months post-qualifying experience.
- Fewer than 7 points on your NI Driving Licence.
- Have not been subject to a driving ban within the last 12 months (from date of ban ending).
- Not currently bankrupt.
- The position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act; Successful candidates will be required to undergo Enhanced DBS and vetting to a level of Counter Terrorist Checked (CTC).
