We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join our successful Women's Health Services Department at Whittington Health NHS Trust. As a Locum Consultant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the department's mission to deliver exceptional healthcare services.
Main Responsibilities- Contribute to the obstetric rota based at the Whittington Hospital, providing expert care to patients and working collaboratively with the medical staff.
- Participate in the Labour ward Rota, covering both Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and contribute to the management of complex patients.
- Run general gynaecology and hysteroscopy clinics, providing a high level of clinical expertise and patient care.
- Deputise to the Gynae oncology lead and support the improvement of Suspected Gynaecological Cancer Pathways.
- Contribute to the development of the department, driving improvement and sharing learning with the team.
- Full GMC registration and entry on the GMC specialist register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of application.
- Relevant CCT or equivalent, with a minimum of one year's experience in advanced Labour Ward Practice and ATSM that includes major abdominal surgery.
- Excellent clinical skills and experience in general Obstetrics and Gynaecology, equivalent to that required of a UK CCST.
- Leadership skills to drive service developments and quality improvement, with evidence of active participation in quality improvement, service redesign, or business development.
- Understanding of clinical governance and its implications, with active participation in audit and computing/IT skills.
- Professional Qualifications: Full GMC registration, relevant CCT or equivalent, entry on the GMC specialist register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of application, MRCOG or appropriate specialist qualification, advanced training in Labour Ward Practice, and advanced training that includes major abdominal surgery.
- Clinical Experience: Clinical training and experience in general Obstetrics and Gynaecology equivalent to that required of a UK CCST, excellent clinical skills and experience.
- Clinical Skills: Excellent practical skills in the full range of Obstetrics & Gynaecology.
- Business Development: Leadership skills to take forward service developments and quality improvement, evidence of active participation in quality improvement, service redesign, or business development.
- Audit, Management, and IT: Understanding of clinical governance and its implications, active participation in audit, computing/IT skills, evidence of audit involvement/CNST etc.
- Research, Teaching, and Skills: Proven ability to organise and contribute to teaching programmes for the multi-disciplinary team, ability to support a multidisciplinary team and take a lead in the clinical aspects within such a team, evidence of ongoing learning and personal growth.
