Job Title: Mechanical Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join our client's operations team in East London. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a £10M package within their own discipline, reporting into a Divisional Director.

About the Role:

The project will be a multi-floor refurbishment in a live environment on one of Canary Wharf's largest office space. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the project is completed on time, to a high quality, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Tender review and validation
  • Design management, including reviewing designs and liaising with the client, main contractor, and consultants
  • Procurement of subcontractors, kit, and plant
  • Technical submittals
  • RFIs - liaison with the client team, main contractor, and subcontractors
  • Value engineering where applicable
  • Programming of works using MS Project or Asta Project
  • Health and safety management, including RAMs
  • Commercial responsibility, assisting with subcontractor variation accounts, working alongside the project-specific quantity surveyor
  • Management of variations
  • Team coordination, overseeing junior engineers, construction managers, and supervisors
  • Progress meetings with subcontractors, clients, and internal meetings
  • Overseeing commissioning stages
  • Formulation of OM manuals and client handover
Requirements:
  • Familiarity with working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working in the commercial sector
  • Experience managing projects to a minimum of £5M within their own discipline
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a management role
  • Ideal experience subcontracting to main contractors such as ISg, Lend Lease, Sir Robert McAlpine, and Mace
