We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Maintenance Engineer to join our team at British Engines Group in Simonside, South Shields. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will play a critical role in driving equipment availability improvements across our Rotary Power and Michell Bearings businesses.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on CNC machinery in our machine shop to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Conduct thorough root cause analyses of major and recurring breakdowns to identify and implement effective prevention strategies.
- Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturers to source parts and obtain technical advice as needed.
- Mentor and develop apprentices and trainees to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of maintenance activities and store critical spares for CNC machines in a readily accessible location.
- Develop and optimize preventive maintenance schedules to minimize operational downtime and maximize equipment availability.
- Assist in the management of maintenance stores and ensure that all critical spares are stocked and easily accessible.
- Provide backup support to the maintenance manager as needed.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will require a strong background in electrical, electronic, and mechanical or software disciplines, with experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. A good working knowledge of other disciplines is also essential.
This is a full-time, permanent position with a 37-hour working week.
