Job Summary

Origin UK Operations and Origin Amenity are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Specialist to join their team. This role will involve working on site projects and refurbishments, general fabrication, and engineering activities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the Projects & Engineering Manager and Supervisor during site projects.
  • Referring to standards and procedures for plant construction/fabrication, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Comply with company health, safety, environmental, and welfare policies.
  • Adhere to company maintenance and repair standards.
  • Complete relevant documentation.

Fabrication and Welding

  • Qualified and competent in welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, and MMA.
  • Ability to fabricate and assemble fixed plant components from drawings.
  • Carry out all necessary cutting, grinding, dressing, and drilling to enable the building of structures and the installation of plant equipment.
  • Carry out equipment modifications.

Project and Engineering Support

  • Prioritise workload within agreed schedules.
  • Contribute toward the design, development, and modification of new and current site equipment.
  • Plant removal and construction experience.
  • Interact with sub-contractors during project or site R & M scope of work.
  • Flexible and willing attitude, assisting with other project scopes of work.

Site Maintenance and Repair Support

  • Carry out safety inspections of site fixed plant.
  • Provide on-site engineering assistance as required.
  • Carry out inspections of site fixed plant machinery during site visits.
  • Carry out diagnosis and repair of fixed machinery faults.
  • Contribute toward increasing employee competency regarding plant preventative maintenance.

Requirements

  • Nationally recognised welding/fabrication/engineering qualification.
  • Full driving licence.
  • 5+ years working in a welding and fabrication discipline with ideally an engineering skill.
  • A good understanding of the requirements of Health & Safety.
