Band 3 Lead Healthcare Support Specialist (Pre-operative Assessment)
An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Band 3 Lead Healthcare Support Specialist within the Pre-operative Assessment division.
Flexibility to operate in various pre-operative areas outside the main department is expected.
This role is crucial in the patient journey, ensuring that each individual is thoroughly prepared for their forthcoming surgical procedure.
Key Responsibilities
The pre-operative department is currently evolving, and we seek dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team during this transformative period.
As a member of the broader team, you will assist in conducting assessments and measurements to support trained nursing staff, demonstrating the ability to use your judgment effectively.
While prior experience in a pre-operative environment is advantageous, comprehensive training specific to this role will be provided.

Role Responsibilities
The successful candidate will deliver high-quality fundamental care to patients under the supervision of a Registered Practitioner, ensuring a compassionate and sensitive approach:
- Always acting in the best interests of the patient.
- Safeguarding and maintaining the privacy and dignity of patients at all times.
- Providing personalized care for a diverse patient population, respecting individual beliefs and preferences.
- Promptly notifying the Registered Practitioner and/or Ward/Department Manager of any changes or concerns regarding patient welfare.
The successful candidate will also play an active role in supervising and mentoring junior or less-experienced staff members.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Successful completion of the Trust's Band 2 Developmental Passport or equivalent competence.
Desirable
- NVQ / QCF level 3 in Health or Health and Social Care.
Experience

- Experience as a Healthcare Assistant in an acute hospital setting or a similar environment.
- A reliable work/study history.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a relevant specialty.
