Head of Gastroenterology Nursing

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dynamic Senior Nurse to play a key role in developing the Gastroenterology Services at East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.
Main Responsibilities- To ensure best practice within Infection Prevention and Control and Clinical Governance, ensuring all areas monitor incidents and complaints are managed in a timely way and responded to appropriately.
- Implement and evaluate nursing care throughout the service, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care are maintained.
- Provide leadership and support to professional and direct care staff working in Gastroenterology, ensuring a visible, accessible and authoritative clinical presence.
- Support and provide leadership to the IBD nursing specialist and Hepatology nursing specialist across the Gastroenterology service.
- Contribute to the development of the Gastroenterology Services, working closely with the nurse consultant and other stakeholders.

Requirements- Minimum three years at Band 7 (or higher clinical grade) in a hospital setting, with evidence of continuous quality improvement and ongoing personal and professional development.
- Ability to evidence local improvement journey priorities, current Health Service priorities, national and local nursing agenda, and Health & Safety.
