Senior Credit Controller

We are seeking an experienced Credit Control Supervisor to join our team at Kosnic Lighting Limited. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of our sales ledger and the maximization of customer sales while minimizing debts.
Key Responsibilities- Implement and maintain effective credit policies and procedures to meet cash and debtor targets.
- Chase overdue debts within agreed timescales through proactive communication with customers.
- Identify changes in payment patterns and propose actions to prevent indebtedness and reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), old debt, and Bad Debt provision.
- Handle disputed invoices and negotiate with customers to bring payments within agreed terms.
- Ensure accurate housekeeping of sales ledger accounts and resolve any customer issues through a holistic approach.
- Process new customer applications for credit, utilizing credit reference agencies.
- Post payments to accounts and allocate as required.
- Produce and review credit reports, undertaking analysis and actions to optimize credit management.
- Liaise with the finance and sales teams to ensure customer accounts are managed within agreed frameworks and according to set credit terms.
- Manage and supervise an experienced Credit Controller.
- Manage data transfer and implementation of new systems, ensuring the needs of Credit Control functions are met, undertake user acceptance testing, and be responsible for the system for the department.
- At least 3+ years of credit control experience, preferably in a similar or senior role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Good understanding of financial statements and the use of credit safe information to make informed decisions.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to handle difficult customers or situations effectively.
- Good customer service skills, both internally and externally.
- Able to work independently, take responsibility, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Able to adopt a can-do attitude and use initiative to achieve results.
- Works well under pressure, with good attention to detail.
- Good management and coaching skills to optimize performance and bring out the best in team members.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and Teams.
- Salary up to £33,000 (FTE) and performance-related bonus (typically £2,000 to £3,000 per annum).
