Your Responsibilities

We are thrilled to present an opportunity to join the Sainsbury's Trading team as a Purchasing Specialist within the Health, Beauty & Wellness sector, focusing on Nutritional Products – a rapidly growing segment that is vital to achieving the objectives of the Health, Beauty & Wellness category. You will report to the Senior Purchasing Specialist, who will mentor you in developing your procurement and sales strategies, assist you in negotiations with essential suppliers, and provide effective coaching to enhance your skills and achieve exceptional outcomes. You will be accountable for delivering a top-tier product range, managing a diverse supply base and a varied product portfolio, including both branded and private label development opportunities. This role is set in a dynamic retail environment where you will thrive while collaborating with a broad FMCG supplier network and various cross-functional teams, including senior stakeholders. This is an exciting period for the category and a remarkable position at the core of our Health, Beauty & Wellness & Grocery Business.

Who You Are

As a Purchasing Specialist for Sainsbury's Purchasing Teams, you are a seasoned professional with a proven history of negotiating with suppliers and optimizing product assortments to deliver quality and value to customers. With your strong commercial insight, you craft and execute customer-centric category plans that align with the company's overarching strategy, aiming to sustainably enhance market presence and profitability. Your ability to analyze financial, market, and customer data enables you to uncover opportunities for product enhancement, new product development, and cost savings. Working collaboratively across functions, you review product assortments, make pivotal decisions in procurement and sales strategies, and effectively manage supplier relationships to meet performance targets. With excellent communication skills, adaptability, and resilience, you navigate complex information, influence stakeholders, and lead relevant projects to successful completion.
