We are seeking a seasoned Compliance and Risk Manager to join our team at Reed. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring our firm adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies, minimizing risk and maintaining our reputation for excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Compliance Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement effective compliance strategies, setting plans and objectives for the compliance function and actively participating in strategy development.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Evaluate risk levels within the firm's compliance procedures, communicating findings to the Compliance Board and recommending actions to mitigate risks.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Oversee policies, systems, and controls related to compliance, reporting breaches to regulatory bodies as necessary and advising the Compliance Board on compliance measures.
- Training and Development: Deliver effective risk and compliance training, conducting audits to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance and collaborating with the Compliance Board and insurers to address claims against the firm.
- Team Management: Manage and develop the compliance team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and resources to perform their duties effectively.
- A minimum of 5 years of compliance experience within a law firm or similar organization.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels.
- Experience in influencing strategy and working with senior management to resolve client conflicts.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest professional standards to minimize risk.
- Proficiency in IT, organization, and confidentiality.
- Ability to balance commercial interests with compliance requirements.
