Our projects vary in scale, ranging from £5k to £15m, where we assume the roles of Principal Contractor and Principal Designer on numerous initiatives, while also providing support to our esteemed Tier 1 contractor clients in both subcontracting and off-site manufacturing capacities.

Role Overview

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive commercial support to our project teams. This includes managing a diverse array of contract types, primarily focusing on NEC and IChemE contracts. The role requires adept management of tight deadlines to fulfill both internal and external reporting obligations.

Key Responsibilities

This position is based at our headquarters, where we promote a hybrid working model that includes a combination of office and remote work. Travel to client sites and meetings will be necessary as required.

  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts to secure a commercially advantageous position for the company.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting to meet strict monthly deadlines.
  • Manage invoicing for your project portfolio in accordance with on-site progress and contractual stipulations, while monitoring overall cost positions to maintain profitability.
  • Implement the change control process effectively in collaboration with the delivery team.
  • Facilitate the swift agreement and sign-off of project final accounts by engaging with key stakeholders.
  • Monitor project expenditures alongside the delivery team, reviewing budgets to guarantee value for money for both the business and its clients.
  • Ensure the prompt establishment of contracts to provide stakeholders with immediate access to essential information.
  • Mentor and train junior team members to foster their professional development.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with extensive experience who can join us at a qualified level. We welcome applications from both Senior and Managing Quantity Surveyors.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying environment with proficiency in the NEC suite of contracts.
  • Strong ability to interpret project scope documents and drawings.
  • Advanced competency in MS Excel.
  • Valid UK driving license.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in MEICA, mechanical, and/or electrical fields.
  • RICS accreditation or equivalent qualification.
