About the Role

The Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking a skilled and dedicated Youth Liaison Nurse to join our team. As a key member of the Iechyd Da Youth Health Team, you will play a vital role in promoting equality of access to health information and advice for young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver health information and advice to young people in a range of settings, including schools, community groups, and healthcare facilities.
  • Work collaboratively with other agencies to provide support and services to vulnerable young people.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with young people, families, and carers to ensure effective communication and support.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of health promotion strategies and initiatives.
  • Participate in multi-agency operational groups to represent the Health Board's interests and promote health issues for vulnerable children and young people.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse/Midwife/Health Visitor/RMN with current registration with the NMC.
  • Postgraduate diploma-level knowledge of sexual health, substance misuse, emotional health, and other issues relevant to young people.
  • Relevant experience at Band 5/6 level, including experience of working with young people, managing own caseload, and working in partnership with other agencies.
  • Desirable qualifications and experience include teaching qualifications, training/qualification in relevant subjects, and experience of working with Looked After Children, children with Physical or Learning Disabilities, and children on the Child Protection Register.

Language Skills

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post. The Health Board offers a variety of learning options and staff support to help you meet the Welsh Language requirements during your employment with us.
