Position Summary: In the role of Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will report directly to the Maintenance Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to enhance our production capabilities by delivering a high-caliber electrical engineering service while ensuring the upkeep of our facilities through both reactive and preventive maintenance strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide essential support for both new and ongoing pilot plant initiatives.
- Oversee the reconditioning of plant machinery and contribute to the design and implementation of innovative production equipment.
- Engage in hands-on activities that may involve physical exertion, working at elevated heights, and navigating confined spaces, with comprehensive training provided as necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with the maintenance team to ensure the smooth operation of production equipment and work closely with the operations team.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager, Chemical Engineers, and Senior Control Systems Engineer in the development and execution of new electrical and mechanical engineering projects, including production methodologies, process optimization, and equipment selection.
Maintenance Duties:
- Manage preventative, reactive, and scheduled maintenance protocols for plant equipment and electrical systems across various sites.
- Lead or assist in new electrical and mechanical engineering projects, which encompass design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Independently oversee minor to medium-sized engineering projects, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Guarantee the safe and efficient operation of production facilities, including troubleshooting production processes.
- Identify and implement electrical and mechanical enhancements with a strong emphasis on safety, executing improvement projects from inception to completion.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Supervise contractors and other personnel during specific tasks and projects.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of Level 5 NVQ or equivalent in Electrical Installations, along with 18th edition certification.
- At least one year of experience in electrical installations.
- Proficient knowledge of industrial processes and controls, including 415/240V systems, low voltage control circuits, PLC systems, and HV/LV distribution systems.
- Familiarity with metal fabrication techniques and welding processes, including TiG, MiG, and brazing.
- Understanding of chiller units and compressed air systems.
- Confined space training and forklift operation certification are advantageous.
