Job Summary

The Senior Controls Engineer is a key member of the TAIT team, responsible for designing and implementing control systems for various projects. This role requires a strong understanding of control systems, automation, and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement control system architectures and technologies to meet project requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of control systems with other project components.
  • Write technical documentation and reports to fulfill project requirements and internal standards.
  • Perform safety analysis and risk assessments to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Design and develop custom PLC projects, HMI screens, and software configurations as needed.
  • Research and recommend new products and solutions to improve control system performance and efficiency.
  • Participate in project bidding activities, including technical proposals and estimates.
  • Lead design reviews and provide constructive feedback to the team.
  • Ensure smooth handover to fabrication and integration teams.
  • Commission and test installed systems to ensure correct performance and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical Theatre.
  • At least 7 years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience with large, distributed control systems and closed-loop motion control.
  • Strong knowledge of functional safety standards, including ISO12100, IEC 62061, and ISO 13849.
  • Familiarity with Beckhoff, Siemens, and Allen Bradley hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of TAIT Navigator software.
  • Basic understanding of commercial aspects of projects.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% and obtain a passport for international travel.
