Job Description

**Job Title:** Assistant Lawyer

**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Lawyer to join our team at Keoghs. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting our Partner, Chris Green, in dealing with criminal regulatory cases and inquest work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the review and analysis of prosecution evidence and consider implications for lay clients and companies.
  • Liaise with the Court, Coroner's Office, clients, and relevant regulators.
  • Review medical records, post-mortem reports, and CCTV footage.
  • Research clients' corporate structures, procedures, risk assessments, and documents.
  • Ensure compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Standards & Regulations.

Requirements:

  • A qualified lawyer, either a Solicitor or Barrister, with regulatory or inquest experience.
  • Good telephone and communication skills with people at all levels.
  • A full clean driving license and use of own means of transport preferred.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of the criminal law and procedure preferred.

Working Hours:

The core working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. However, the Assistant Lawyer will be expected to work flexible hours as necessary to facilitate clients and the nature of the job.

Location:

The primary location for this role is the Coventry Office. The successful candidate will be expected to attend the Coventry office two days per week in accordance with Keoghs' agile working policy.
