Commercial Lawyer - In-House Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Lawyer to join our team as an in-house counsel. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide specialist legal advice on all aspects of commercial agreements, including development, sales, construction, and operation of energy infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial law, with experience advising on complex agreements. You will work closely with our commercial leads to develop innovative decarbonisation strategies and advise on changes to template contracts due to upcoming regulation and decarbonisation of the UK heat market.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including heat network contracts and private wire agreements.
  • Providing day-to-day assistance on all aspects of energy solutions projects, including on-site and off-site PV solar, wind, and heat pumps.
  • Working with our team to develop and implement commercial strategies to support our energy infrastructure business.

We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills, a practical and commercial approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience of the energy industry or working in a regulated environment is desirable, but not essential.
