Working Hours: 5 hours per week

Rainham Steel, a leading UK steel stockholder, is seeking an experienced mechanical engineer to join our team at our Rainham, Essex depot. As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production facilities.

The Role:
  • Reporting to the Operations Manager
  • Diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems
  • Fault finding and rectification
  • Periodic service and maintenance
  • Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment conditions
  • Working with a variety of plant and equipment, including forklifts, side loaders, overhead cranes, saws, drills, shot blasters, and rebar processing machines
  • Flexible to do paid overtime when necessary
The Candidate:
  • Proven experience in maintenance within a production environment
  • Competent in mechanical repairs and maintenance, including bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, and welding
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, pressurized environment
  • Good command of the English language
  • Excellent time-keeping skills
