About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety Engineer to join our expanding Defence Portfolio. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing safety management plans and safety case reports for our diverse range of defence products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain safety management plans and safety case reports in accordance with MoD Military Standard (Def-Stan or equivalent)
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest safety practices in industry and the MoD, ensuring company awareness is appropriate for our work
  • Utilise recognised safety methods, technology, and tools to explore all aspects of safety management through the design lifecycle, including hazard identification, risk analysis, and mitigation
  • Develop, manage, and present safety cases for our products
  • Liaise with internal and external customers on safety factors and work closely with engineers from various disciplines
Requirements
  • Proven experience working in a safety management environment, ideally with an MoD background or experience working in the MoD domain
  • Ability to produce clear and concise technical safety documentation
  • Preferably experience working with UK MoD ASEMS processes and procedures for safety systems and projects, and familiarity with Def Stan Safety Management
  • SSMO Qualified or similar training would be a bonus
  • Ability to obtain security clearance and have a full driving licence
