Senior Project Controls Manager:As a Senior Project Controls Manager based in the Midlands, you will add value to project/programme teams on niche and high-profile schemes across the infrastructure sector for our reputable clients.
You will be tasked with fulfilling a range of responsibilities, tailored to the specific needs of the project or program you are contributing to.
Your Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and manage a Project Controls team, setting individuals' objectives, reviewing performance, and providing ongoing feedback.
- Develop and monitor the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB).
- Agree on the progress measurement methodology with the contractor and ensure timely submission of project actuals in a previously agreed format.
- Measure current performance and predict future performance of the project/programme using valid performance measurement techniques such as earned value management.
- Collate performance & progress data related to time, cost, risk, change and quality periodically, and develop high-quality, robust, accurate periodic reports for project/programme leaders.
- Sustain and improve planning, risk, cost control, change control management policies, procedures & processes, and ensure their proper application by the project controls and delivery teams.
- Lead teams implementing change control as per change control management process and procedures of the project.
- Chair and/or facilitate the necessary project/programme level change forums, escalating change papers with high-level impact that require additional approvals.
- Advise project/programme leaders by providing specialist advice and technical knowledge to resolve or mitigate delays, issues, and other challenges throughout the project.
- Undertake self-assessment of procedural compliance, sharing lessons learned and best-practice within the wider Project Controls community.
- Successful leadership with a proven track record of delivering results within a large-scale project environment.
- Proven expertise in a Project Management or Project Controls Management position, specifically within complex infrastructure projects across sectors such as transport, energy, defence, or water.
- Preferably owning a good standing formal professional Project Management or project controls management qualification or certification.
- Proficiency in EVM processes and their application in complex infrastructure projects, and possessing a strong aptitude to oversee schedule, cost, risk, change control management activities, and reporting.
- Experience of project controls management under NEC Forms of Contract.
- Experience in a client organization for a complex infrastructure project/programme.
- Consistent attention to detail with the ability to solve complex problems and mitigate risks.
- A good appreciation of Quantitative Schedule and Cost Risk Analysis (QSRA/QCRA) and baseline management.
