Job Summary

Themis Recruit is seeking a seasoned Defendant Clinical Negligence Solicitor to manage a caseload of complex clinical negligence matters in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will play a key role in defending healthcare professionals and organizations against claims of clinical negligence, ensuring the highest standards of legal representation and client service.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Case Management
  • Handle a caseload of defendant clinical negligence matters from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to provide accurate and timely advice to clients.
  • Draft pleadings, witness statements, and other legal documents.
Client Interaction
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and collaboration.
  • Attend client meetings, providing updates on case progress and addressing client concerns.
Court Proceedings
  • Represent clients in court, attending hearings and managing the litigation process.
  • Conduct negotiations and settlements on behalf of clients when appropriate.
Legal Compliance
  • Stay abreast of changes in relevant laws and regulations affecting clinical negligence.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and professional standards.
Team Collaboration
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the firm to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Mentor junior members of the team and contribute to their professional development.
Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in defendant clinical negligence.
  • Strong litigation and advocacy skills, with experience handling complex cases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Demonstrated client management and relationship-building skills.
