About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Consultant Obstetrician to join our team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust. As a key member of our specialist services, you will play a vital role in advancing our Quality and Safety strategy while providing exceptional care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of our Fetal Medicine services, including Complex termination of pregnancy and bereavement services.
  • Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality obstetric and gynaecological care.
  • Participate in the 'hot week' system, providing separate acute obstetric and gynaecological cover from Monday to Friday.
  • Deliver babies at our three units, with a focus on providing excellent patient care and outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of our Quality and Safety strategy.
Service Provision

Our obstetric services are primarily based at Tunbridge Wells hospital, with Birth Centres adjacent to Maidstone Hospital and in Crowborough. We deliver approximately 6000 babies annually across the three units. Our gynaecology inpatients and most emergencies are managed at Tunbridge Wells Hospital, supplemented by an early pregnancy service and a day-case service at Maidstone hospital.
