Job Summary

GE Grid Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Lead Control System Validation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our HVDC Controls & Protection Verification team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality verification and validation activities on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain activity plans for the Validation & Verification team, ensuring alignment with project schedules.
  2. Design and create Factory System Test (FST) cases, review results against design requirements, and lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) with clients.
  3. Develop HVDC system and plant modeling in electromagnetic transient tools like PSCAD, RSCAD, EMTP-RV, and undertake dynamic performance studies and protection coordination.
  4. Prepare control system requirements for the RTDS Lab setup, including AC DC interface requirements, plant emulator interface requirements, and RSCAD power system network conversion, modeling, and verification.
  5. Support New Product Introduction (NPI) to develop existing and new products and tools.
  6. Provide support to Commissioning Engineers during dynamic commissioning at site.
  7. Support continual improvement, raising the effectiveness and efficiency of the team through the introduction of tools, methods, and process improvements, and coordinate with Continuous Improvement leaders.

Requirements:

  1. Engineering degree or equivalent, including power systems and power electronics subjects, or proven equivalent knowledge and experience in HVDC business.
  2. Significant experience in the position of Verification Engineer in High Voltage field, with experience as a Control & Protection design Engineer.
  3. Good knowledge of overall 400kV substation, HVDC system (LCC/VSC/SVC), including control and protection system.
  4. Technical leadership skills with ability to manage team of validation engineers.
  5. Excellent communication skills with fluency in English language.
  6. Willingness to travel to support projects globally and readiness for flexibility with working hours.
