Key Responsibilities- Support the delivery of specialist engineering activities across the trust, ensuring compliance with safety standards and legal requirements.
- Develop and maintain training programs for technicians and apprentices, ensuring they have the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively.
- Participate in the Estates out of hours on-call arrangements and undertake Authorized Person responsibilities for specific engineering systems as required.
- Collaborate with the Senior Specialist Engineer to ensure competency is maintained across the in-house team, delivering specialist engineering training and mentoring.
- Qualified to degree level in engineering or a related field, with significant management experience.
- Experience in operational maintenance in a mechanical, electrical, or building services discipline, or equivalent significant experience.
- Membership of a professional institution, such as IHEEM, IEE, IET, IMechE, or CIBSE.
- ISOH Managing Safely certification.
- A recognized training qualification or apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical services.
- Legionella awareness L8 - Responsible Person certification.
- NEBOSH - Level 3 Certificate.
- Appointments as an Authorized/Competent person.
- Experience working with computer-aided facility management systems.
- Considerable knowledge of healthcare engineering services.
- Experience working in an acute or non-acute hospital setting.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to address and develop solutions to complex problems.
- Ability to receive and interpret complex information and communicate effectively with non-estates professionals.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with executive directors.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Highly organized approach to work.
- Strong IT/PC skills.
- Evidence of good written and spoken communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate behaviors consistent with the trust's values and behaviors.
