Wentworth James Group is collaborating with a prominent client, a global leader in the manufacturing of specialized high-performance measurement solutions across various sectors such as Aerospace, Automotive, Energy, Industrial & Oil & Gas.

An exciting opportunity has emerged for an Electrical Systems Engineer to join this forward-thinking organization on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will possess a background in Electrical Design or Hardware Design, alongside Control Systems Engineering. Responsibilities will include the design, development, and commissioning of control systems, which encompass variable speed motors and drives, as well as PLC-based testing systems and P&ID diagrams.



  • Engage actively in engineering projects, ensuring effective communication with clients and internal teams as necessary.
  • Support the commissioning of systems both in-house and at client locations, both domestically and internationally.

Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of experience with Electrical CAD tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or preferably Solidworks Electrical.



  • Familiarity with contemporary machine systems design and standards, including safety protocols.
  • Capability to design industrial control systems in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness regarding project budgets, timelines, and specifications.
  • Produce high-quality project documentation.
  • Set up and program motor inverter drives for variable speed applications.
  • Experience in PLC Programming with Siemens Step 7 / TIA Portal / Controllogix / Beckhoff PLC / Codesys is desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Self-driven with strong time management skills to adhere to project deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel and work internationally as required.

Knowledge of industrial communication protocols, including:


  • Industrial wiring and switchgear, design and selection techniques.
  • Industrial sensors such as encoders and transducers for pressure, flow, and temperature.
  • Selection of cable types for industrial applications.
  • Understanding of electrical legislation and compliance standards such as UKCA, CE, UL, CSA.
  • Awareness of industrial safety standards and design practices.
