About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Photographer to join our team at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Photographer, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality medical imaging services to support patient care and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce high-quality clinical photographs of patients in a variety of settings, including photographic studios and clinical locations.
  • Perform ophthalmic imaging, including fundus photography and optical coherence tomography (OCT).
  • Provide photographs for medical, legal, and police purposes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders to facilitate photographic requests and answer related queries.
  • Use image editing software to process and enhance images for upload to the Trust's image database.
  • Ensure accurate and timely upload of clinical photographs to the Trust's image database.
  • Perform non-clinical photography for public relations, communication, and staff portrait purposes.
  • Discuss and offer advice on photographic-related issues and clarify the requesting process, consent, and other matters.
  • Ensure compliance with Trust and department policies and procedures for secure and confidential processing of clinical images and data.
Requirements
  • Photography degree with clinical photography knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • BTEC HND, City & Guilds, or equivalent in photography.
  • Professional qualification in Medical Illustration/Clinical Photography (desirable).
  • Experience of clinical and general photography.
  • Highly computer literate with good knowledge of digital photography and image management software.
  • Knowledge and experience of ophthalmic imaging (desirable).
