Amazon is seeking a highly skilled Senior Operational and Programme Manager to join our team in Central Operations. As a key member of our Fleet Management team, you will be responsible for owning strategic, tactical, cross-functional, and technology projects and programs within Amazon Logistics (AMZL).
The ideal candidate will have a strong track-record of delivering successful new products, programs, and/or Value Added Service offerings at significant scale, senior leadership involvement with external vendors, and thought leadership within procurement, transportation, fleet, or automotive.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Improved Financial Performance: Develop and implement strategies to improve vehicle uptime and reduce costs.
- Define Requirements for Service Offerings: Work with stakeholders to define requirements for service offerings for the repair of all vehicles in Amazon's last mile fleet, including Internal Combustion and Electric Vehicles.
- Define Program Objectives and Drive Improvements: Define the program mission, vision, and tenets, set objectives, analyze data, and drive improvements that are quantified with metrics.
- Work Autonomously and Partner with Teams: Work autonomously in an ambiguous environment, seeking to understand business problems, automation limitations, scaling factors, boundary conditions, and reasons behind leadership decisions. Partner with teams across the business to source, allocate, and coordinate resources.
- Oversee Gaps and Define Solutions: Oversee gaps between teams, processes, and systems, helping teams reduce exposure to classic failure modes.
- Define and Solve Ambiguous Problems: Define and solve highly ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks.
- Develop and Govern KPI Reporting: Develop, implement, and govern KPI reporting for a portfolio of programs, providing visibility to milestones and performance across all projects.
- Engage with Amazon Business Units: Engage with other Amazon business units globally to share best practices and improve end-to-end outcomes for Amazon customers.
5+ years of program or project management experience, with a focus on fleet management and vehicle maintenance. Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements. Experience owning program strategy, end-to-end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications2+ years of driving process improvements experience. Master's degree or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design, or related field. PMP certificate. Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization.
