Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide emotional and physical safety for children, ensuring their well-being and protection at all times.
  • Develop nurturing relationships with children based on acceptance, understanding, and empathy.
  • Offer comfort and co-regulation, promoting positive attachments and meaningful relationships.
  • Manage pain-based behavior in a non-confrontational manner, remaining calm and available to children in distress.
  • Embed the Health and Social Care Standards into operational practice, ensuring the highest standard of care and protection.
  • Advocate on behalf of children, upholding their rights and ensuring their needs are met.
  • Work in partnership with education, health, and therapeutic services to achieve agreed outcomes for children in our care.
  • Undertake key-working responsibilities, attending regular focus groups and taking forward agreed actions.
Requirements:
  • HNC in Social Care or equivalent qualification.
  • Social Services (Children and Young People) SVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) SVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Experience of providing care, support, and guidance to children and vulnerable young people with complex needs.
  • Ability to form meaningful relationships with children and young people, understanding their difficulties and presenting behavior.
  • Ability to work in a therapeutic way, encouraging and supporting children and young people to reach their full potential.
