Job Description Summary

This position is for the DMLM/CAD Process Engineering Leader role at GE Aerospace's Additive Technology Center. The role is focused on leading additive DMLM and CAD process engineers at the ATC to ensure the safety, quality, delivery, and cost of both commercial and military additive component hardware as well as leading/supporting the development and implementation (MRL/TRL/APQP) of technology for NPI hardware on various programs. This role also is expected to interface with key stakeholders across the business to ensure additive hardware is producible, repeatable and stable for long term production. Seeking an experienced leader with the ability to lead through changing product mix while developing strategy for the future outlook of facility.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Drive the industrialization of new technology and the integration into additively built hardware.
  • Provide direction and leadership to DMLM process engineers and CAD engineers.
  • Be a stakeholder in communicating product/program status, strategies, risks and recommendations to customers and senior leaders.
  • Establish effective performance measures that can be used to alert site leadership on program plan updates.
  • Drive cross functional collaboration (Operations, Design Engineering, Sourcing, Quality, Suppliers, etc.).
  • Support manufacturing facilities to industrialize additive manufacturing supply chain processes.
  • Develop technical solutions and partner with other IPT technical leadership to implement and transition products to high volume production facilities.
  • Identify and execute projects to increase quality and decrease part manufacturing cost.
  • Provide manufacturing consultation on any new work coming into the ATC including initial development schedules, resource needs and cost predictions to aid in key strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to develop and optimize additive component design and producibility reviews for additive components to ensure manufacturability.
  • Develop and build a team committed to lean and applying new technologies to our processes.
  • Promote professional growth, inclusive and collaborative teaming with timely performance feedback and coaching.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant Manufacturing and/or Engineering experience.
Desired Characteristics:
  • Master's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Prior experience with manufacturing process development, ideally TRL/MRL process experience.
  • Experience with additive technology/manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of mechanical design, ability to review drawings with understanding GD&T.
  • Established project management skills. Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
  • Experience utilizing FLIGHT DECK tools to drive problem solving and action planning.
  • Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn.
