About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Speech Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with speech, language, and communication needs, ensuring they thrive within our college environment and have access to our specialist curriculum and wider opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage a specialist clinical caseload, ensuring practice is in line with our profession's standards.
  • Contribute to the development of individualized therapeutic interventions, working directly with service users, multidisciplinary teams, and partners.
  • Collaborate with teaching and support staff on lesson planning, modeling strategies, and joint delivery.
  • Provide individual and group therapy, as assessed and/or specified in the individual's Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).
  • Deliver staff support and training, alongside the team.
  • Inform lead SLT about training, resources, trends, and development needs.
  • Contribute to and implement the strategy for good communication across Nottinghamshire.
  • Represent the Speech and Language Therapy service at agreed forums, as required.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • A recognized Speech and Language Therapy degree or diploma, with NQT competencies completed.
  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HPCP).
  • A portfolio of relevant post-qualification Continuing Professional Development (CPD), including specialist knowledge of Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN) of service users with neurodevelopmental differences.
  • Working experience of assessing and managing caseloads for young adults with neurodevelopmental conditions.
  • Experience of effective multi-disciplinary/agency working.
  • Experience of enabling different staff groups to understand issues around communication.
