About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as the Head of Digital Media. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the digital strategy of The Scottish Sun, enhancing our online presence, and ensuring our content reaches and resonates with a diverse and growing audience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the development and implementation of our digital strategy, ensuring alignment with our business objectives.
  • Edit and curate high-quality digital content, including articles, videos, and social media posts, to maximize engagement and traffic.
  • Collaborate with editorial colleagues across our integrated newsroom to identify fresh storylines and opportunities for growth.
  • Manage the online news operation, including audience teams and audio/video departments, to ensure seamless execution and high-quality output.
  • Work closely with internal departments, including commercial and marketing, to develop and execute cross-functional initiatives.
  • Interpret analytics and data to inform decision-making and drive business growth.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including online, audience, sport, tech, and video teams across News Corp.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in digital media, with a strong track record of driving growth and engagement.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire high-performing teams.
  • Expertise in SEO, social media, and digital news delivery, with a deep understanding of emerging trends and technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and drive business decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Scottish Sun DNA and how it translates to digital platforms.
  • Familiarity with legal issues, the Editors' Code of Practice, and IPSO standards.
