**Job Summary:**
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Japanese speaking FDI Research Coordinator to join our team at Centre People Appointments. As a key member of our business development team, you will be responsible for attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) from the UK and supporting the entire investment cycle, from initial lead generation to outreach and account management.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support the entire investment cycle: Focus on initial lead generation, outreach, and account management to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) from the UK.
- Attract FDI from the UK: Identify, contact, meet, and communicate client's value proposition to their client's target investors, partners, and customers.
- Identify and engage with potential clients: Travel to events and trade shows to identify companies looking for business expansion and provide trade & market entry support services to companies interested in exporting to the UK.
- Support the overseas investment process: From initial lead generation to negotiation and closing deals, provide support to clients via regular meeting notes and reports.
- Plan and execute events: Organize and execute events with the purpose of attracting foreign direct investment, arrange and support visits from government and business delegations, and act as a liaison between the state government and prospective UK investors.
- Undertake research and technology scouting: Conduct research and 'technology scouting' for Japanese/other APAC corporate clients, compile regular reports (in English/Japanese) for submission to clients, and work with clients to help them engage and collaborate with potential technology partners.
- Other related business development tasks: Perform other related business development and administrative tasks as required.
Requirements:
- 2 years' experience: Ideally 2 years' experience in FDI attraction, international business, site selection, etc.
- Dynamic approach: An outgoing and dynamic approach to work, with an enthusiasm for meeting and engaging people.
- Excellent communication skills: Excellent communication skills to get complex ideas across from clients to customers/investors and vice versa.
- Language skills: Native level English skills and advanced Japanese language skills.
- Travel requirements: Ability to travel extensively domestically, and occasionally to the UK and the US.
- Industry knowledge: An interest in technology, sustainability, market expansion, and international business, with a degree relevant to business, international relations, investment promotion, or trade.
